2013 Week 8 – Kai Enjoys His Showers

Kai before shower song Kai after the shower song

In the beginning, taking a bath was not one of Kai’s favorite activities; especially since it was more like a scrub down really, and not a “real” bath.  Being the music lover that I am, I made up a song on the fly for whenever it was time for him to get a “scrub down”.

Kai is taking a shower
and he’s not crying
and he’s not crying
he’s a big boy

Believe me, it’s better sung than written.  Anyway, now that he’s bigger and is able to take more of a “real” shower, his attitude has completely changed, especially once I start singing the shower song.  This is a picture of before the song, and during the song.

2013 Week 7 – Kai Tries To Hold His Bottle

Hands on Bottle

Hands on Bottle

For as long as I can remember, Kai has always made some sort of an attempt to manage his bottle.  At a few weeks old he would ball up his fist and place them on the sides of the bottle as if to say “keep away, this is mine”.  Now he’s actually able to open his hands, put them on the bottle, but he can’t quite get a grip just yet.  Keep working at it little buddy!

2013 Week 6 – Kai Carnavaling

So on carnival Sunday, we decided to take Kai out to the Panamanian West Indian Fair. As you can see, he was clearly having a good time doing what he loves. Loud music!? No problem, I can sleep through that, as long as it’s constant. This was during The Beachers’ performance.

2013 Week 5 – Kai’s First Pool Party

Kai in the pool

So, Kai was invited to his first pool party, and he didn’t hesitate to RSVP with a “do I really have to wear diapers in the pool!?!”  Lucky for him, they sell some especially for these type of situations, so he went with the “Finding Nemo” pool diaper.  While he seemed to be relaxed and somewhat enjoying himself in the picture, he wasn’t a fan of the experience, mainly because the water was a bit too cold for his preference.  Maybe next time if the temperature is right he can reminisce about his days in the uterus.
