Kai and his ATV – Christmas 2013

Kai on his ATV

Here we have Little Buddy experimenting, and getting to know all of the features offered by his Spiderman ATV, as Elmo looks on minding his own business.

“The history behind the picture, is far more important than the “quality” of the picture” – Vic.

I took me some time to understand that statement.  When you think about it back in our days, our parents, or an aunt or uncle, came around with a camera every so often and snapped pictures.  You probably never saw those pictures, or by the time you saw them it was saw far into the future that you had a hard time believing it was actually you in the pictures.  They weren’t concerned about rule of thirds, composition, lighting, line of horizon, decentralizing the subject, etc., etc.  They were concerned about taking the picture, capturing the moment and history behind the picture.  I am not starting to adopt that model.  It’s not all about pretty pictures, it’s about the moment(s) and the story.

2013 Week 29 – Kai Enjoys Mom Mom and Cousin Amara

Kai and the ladies

Yes, that’s right, for the entire month of July, Kai enjoyed being spoiled by his Mom Mom and his senior cousin Amara (and for many of those days, add his other cousin and favorite baby sitter, Cailin).  It was easy; all he had to do was be cute, and later demand (bang on a table, or cry out) whenever he needed something **cough** attention **cough**.  At times he refused to go to sleep like a good boy unless Mom Mom held him, and read from his favorite book “Monday the Bullfrog”.  Yes, the estrogen level was high around the house, but Kai managed to take full advantage of the situation by being Kai.  Here we see his lazy pose with one leg up, just because.

2013 Week 27 – Kai Wears A Tuxedo

Kai Wears A Tux

Also known as Tuxedo-Kai, Kai decided it was time to show the world the reason for the aka.  On this occasion he was celebrating his Tio Gildo’s birthday as classy as can be.  Needless to say, the jacket stayed on for about 15 minutes; if that.  The bow tie got tossed in about 19 minutes, the cummerbund eventually ended up front-to-back, and finally he decided to go with the “beach-tux” look by getting rid of the shoes. Luckily his father was there to freeze the moment before the borderline stripping began.

2013 Week 26 – Kai Fights Sleep

Its been a long time since I posted a Kai updates, and for this I apologize.  In order to compensate for my lack of keeping you guys updated, I decided to make this one a video post.

Kai is a master at fighting sleep, in this specific occasion he rubbed his eyes, he rolled around the bed, he made the fart sound with the pacifier in his mouth, he made the fart sound without the pacifier in his mouth, he made the fart sound with his butt, he cried, he stopped crying, he laughed, he dried humped the bed, and then he did it all over again 50 more times (don’t worry, the video is a short version of all these things).  Eventually, and as always, he lost.  Sleep 1 – 0 Kai

2013 Week 5 – Kai’s First Pool Party

Kai in the pool

So, Kai was invited to his first pool party, and he didn’t hesitate to RSVP with a “do I really have to wear diapers in the pool!?!”  Lucky for him, they sell some especially for these type of situations, so he went with the “Finding Nemo” pool diaper.  While he seemed to be relaxed and somewhat enjoying himself in the picture, he wasn’t a fan of the experience, mainly because the water was a bit too cold for his preference.  Maybe next time if the temperature is right he can reminisce about his days in the uterus.

2013 Week 4 – Kai Smiles at Mami

This was Kai’s second outing.  We decided to leave the adventure for another day, and we actually went back to the same spot as last time; Balboa, by the Panama Canal Administration building.  By the looks of this picture, I think he likes it there.

2013 Week 2 – Kai’s First Outing

Kai -at the Panama Canal Administration Building

Kai’s first outing that didn’t involve a pediatrician nor being locked up in someone’s house.  He loved it, and by the looks of it so did his hair.   This is at the foot of the Panama Canal Administration building in Balboa.

2013 Week 1 – Welcome 2013

Kai - New Year 20-13

Kai – New Year 20-13

Kai partying with us, bringing in his first “New Year” on January 01, 2013.  Well, he’s not really partying, as you can see; he’s more like sleeping.  But in his defense, this brings him joy, so we can definitely call it “his” party.
