Truth be told this week has been such a roller coaster that I almost forgot to take my weekly picture. In fact, looking back at my library this was the only picture I took of Kai during week 16. -85 for me. Anyway, I’ve noticed that my “little buddy” (as I like to call him) has this thing about watching me. The other day I took him in the bathroom me, and he sat there for about 10 minutes or so, just watching as I shaved my head and my beard. 10 minutes of watching is a long time for anyone, especially a 4.8 month old baby. The same thing happens when I walk into the house, a room he is in, or if I start to talk (even though the talking thing could be because I’m Brooklyn-loud when I talk). He pauses from whatever he’s doing, stares at daddy for a few, then is back to business. I like that; it makes me feel as if though he’s already identifying with this father. That means I have to watch my every move as I’m already been watched.

Yep, that’s right, Kai is going through the Akinyele phase and everything he grabs he puts in his mouth. Here he is trying to fit his furry little friend, Mr. Sapito, in his mouth. I guess the “fur” on his tongue doesn’t really bother him.
